I saw the same Orthopaedic surgeon three times before he did a proper evaluation and sent me in for X-Ray thus diagnosing this issue. He arranged surgery and a week prior I went to see the surgeon to ask some questions for reassurance about what the surgery entailed. I mentioned that the physical therapy I had been doing felt like it was improving the strength and as soon as I said that he changed his mind and decided the tear didn't warrant the surgery. He was also coming across as he was annoyed I was even asking questions and I just found the situation to be very cold and inappropriate. I actually felt quite nervous as a result of his attitude and neglected to ask all of the questions I wanted. Do you have any advice? A big issue I have with it is the crunching and cracking sound when I life it up, it also makes a popping sound.
Are the recovery results the same with both the surgical approach and physical therapy in a young patient with labral (non-bony) Bankart lesion ?
Dear Sir I’m new to your channel.
Do you think that cervical instability can cause problems like tachycardia heart palpitations and dizziness if cardiovascular and vestibular exams are normal
Can you please make video on it
Love the videos! They are a great help
What is the 3D anatomy model that you use?
Thank you so much! It’s a custom model that we had made for us by developers to help with our teaching 🙏🏼
sir, your videos are so helpful i would request you to talk about amputation of leg and also sudeck syndrome.thank you
Thank you so much! We are trying to find an amputee specialist to work with on this for one of our webinars 😊
I had this surgery a couple of years ago, unfortunately some time after it happened again. I’ve managed to put up with the sudden instability but not sure whether to go for the surgery again. Surgeon told me they may need to remove some of my hip bone to do it
That sounds like a latarjet surgery if that is what you are having. Wish you all the best whatever happens
Lol we had a question on bankart lesions in our final exam...as always great work by the clinical physio team.
Thank you so much!
thank you for this video. If there is a hill-sacs fracture would you have to immobilise the shoulder for a few weeks prior to commencing physio or would you get right into rehab?
Thanks
Did you find your answer? I have a Hill-Sachs and a Bankart Bony fracture
The bone comes from the coracoid most often, not the hip. Thats the latarjet.
Wonderful presentation
Thank you so much!
I had an arthroscopic bankart repair surgery using 3 suture anchors. Could you please suggest how many days after the surgery, if everything seems fine, can I return to heavy exercise and contact sports like chin ups or badminton or football?
He probably won't answer this for liability reasons, but I had a slap repair and it was just about a year before I felt comfortable hitting the gym with progressive overload. At around 9 months I moved in from bands but didn't do anything they I would consider to failure until after a year
How easy is to retear after surgery?
Was very useful.
Glad to hear that!
Hi, my mri says I have a cleft like defect in the articular surface which (could be) a tiny partial tear in my labrum but my orthopedic says surgery isn't needed especially on a could be but my shoulder has been bothering me for 4 months. Would like your opinion please
Pain while rasing arm, pops and catches from time to time. My pt thinks I need surgery
Can we treat this injury without surgery?
Yes if it is not causing any symptoms or instability
How long the recovery of bankart repair
Generally speaking if rehab goes well I would expect around 6 months
